NewsKnowledge economy: more and better education, research and innovation Excellent education is the foundation for a society in which everyone gets the same chance to develop their talents. Excellent research helps us find answers to tomorrows economic and ecological challenges. And excellent innovation keeps our economy internationally competitive.
Education, research and innovation together provide our future welfare and wellbeing. We need every individual talent to continue to develop themselves, their surrounding and our country. The system should support the individual to prevent students leaving education without a proper chance of a job. To ensure everyone feels part of our society. To help youngsters to discover and develop their strengths and passions for a fitting place in our labour market. And to strengthen our economy with more innovation and entrepreneurship to compete with other countries and continents, to make sure we can continue to afford to provide everyone with equal opportunities in the next decades.
This was the core vision and message of the book “An (in)convenient choice” and reason for the Dutch Liberal Democrats to ask the author and director of Adstrat to participate in its 2010 election program committee. He chaired the effort which produced the chapter on education, research and innovation called “Different learning and development”.
